COACH BRIEF — THURSDAY
CYCLE 2 · WEEK 4
SUPERB STRENGTH — SQUAT SNATCH COMPLEX
COACH FOCUS
Today is about technical consistency and control through the full complex.
Athletes should build weight gradually across the 5 sets.
Every position should be strong: high hang → hang → low hang → floor.
Keep the bar close and move aggressively under the bar.
The load should never compromise the quality of the complex.
WATCH FOR
Bar drifting away from the body.
Slow or passive turnover.
Losing the overhead position in the squat.
Poor balance in the receiving position.
Adding weight when technique is already breaking down.
KEY MESSAGE
Stay technically sharp. Build the weight only when every position feels strong.
SUPERB INTENSITY — SNATCH ENGINE
COACH FOCUS
This is a 20-minute EMOM with four different demands.
Athletes should choose a rep/calorie target they can maintain for all 5 rounds.
Power Snatches should be efficient and technically clean.
Burpees should have a consistent rhythm.
Assault Bike should be controlled rather than an early sprint.
Double-Unders should stay relaxed and rhythmic.
WATCH FOR
Power Snatch technique deteriorating under fatigue.
Athletes choosing too many reps in round one.
Burpees becoming unnecessarily slow.
Bike calories dropping significantly between rounds.
Double-Unders turning into repeated attempts and excessive rest.
KEY MESSAGE
Choose sustainable numbers and repeat them for all five rounds.
COACH CUE
“Don't win the first round. Find a pace you can repeat for the entire 20 minutes.”
